Breath Work

Come and join us on the beach for one of the most nourishing, life-changing addictions.

Luke is an integrative breath-work facilitator on the Sunshine Coast.

His primary aim is to improve & maintain an advanced level of balance within individuals, to achieve optimal endurance, capacity & quality of life.

The action of intentional inhalation & exhalation will interact with the Motor & Sensory fibres of the nervous system that innovate our vital organs directly & indirectly.

Particular Breath-work patterns strengthen the laryngeal muscles, such breathing exercises can improve vocal tone, articulation, stronger vocal range, flexibility & stamina, allowing for a more powerful and controlled vocal performance.

Breath-work stimulates the Vagus Nerve via Stretch Receptors in the Lungs and Airways. These receptors detect the degree of lung inflation. When the lungs are inflated to a certain threshold, the stretch receptors are activated & send sensory signals via the vagus nerve to the brain. This signalling can influence various bodily functions controlled by the Vagus Nerve, such as heart rate and digestion.

The Vagus Nerve, the main Parasympathetic Nerve carries information from various internal organs to the brain, including the amygdala, which plays a central role in emotional responses. This input helps the amygdala assess the emotional significance of stimuli and coordinate appropriate bodily responses.
